SIX SENSES CRANS-MONTANA, SWITZERLAND

Looking for a luxury vacation in Switzerland? Six Senses is ready to take mountain spas to the next level with the new Six Senses Crans-Montana spa. Hidden among the pine trees is a spa that blends the expertise of Six Senses with the latest tech. Those feeling a little post-ski fatigue can book into the biohacking recovery lounge, which is designed to optimize the body’s natural healing processes. Think Hypervolt percussion massager, NormaTec compression boots, and a warming Venom back wrap. Within the 2,000-square-metre spa, you’ll also find nine treatment rooms with alpine-inspired therapies; a muscle-easing Stretch Pod; a yoga studio, and a fitness centre. You’ll also find an indoor pool, steam, hammam, and plunge pool. Or if you want to breathe in that fresh mountain air, you can take a dip in the rooftop pool. Kids and teens can also enjoy some me-time with their own tiny VIP spa.

Room with a view: No surprise that one of the world’s best spas comes complete with super relaxing hotel suites. Expect handmade mattresses and temperature control sheets to help give you the best night’s sleep. But if you choose the Terrace Suite, you can also roll out your yoga mat and practice your downward dog al fresco.

HOTEL DE LEN, ITALY

Found in the heart of Cortina, Italy, is the new Hotel de Len. While you may want to stop for a cocktail in the bar, or a plump pastry in the café, you should make sure that you also book an appointment at the spa. Open all year round, SPA de LEN has a winter and summer treatment menu. The winter menu is filled with regenerating and relaxing massages of up to 80 minutes at a time, as well as a body scrub to promote circulation and rejuvenation of your skin. While the Ice Massage also helps support circulation and relaxes and tones your muscles, they recommend that you leave this experience until the summer months. However, you can indulge any time of year with the Spa By Night experience, where you can enjoy a relaxing 50-minute massage, followed by dinner and sparkling wine. There is also a sauna, hot tub, solarium, and swimming pool to discover. Or you could just pull up a lounger by the pool and look out through the A-frame window to the mountain slopes.

Room with a view: The walls of each sustainable hotel suite have been lined with pine as its believed that the natural oils found in the wood will aid your sleep. However, the Junior Suite also comes with the added bonus of a deep tub and views of the Croda Da Lago and Becca di Mezzodi mountains.

KEMPINSKI PALACE ENGELBERG, SWITZERLAND

The mountain town of Titlis in Switzerland is where you’ll find the new Kempinski Palace Engelberg hotel. Yes, it has sleek and chic suites with stunning views of the Swiss mountains, the Palace bar with a crackling fire, and its own chalet, but your first port of call should be the 880-square-metre spa found on the top floor of the hotel. Pop on your robe and spa slippers and step into Sauna World – yes, really. There’s the Bio sauna with aromatic scents to cleanse and stimulate; the Vitarium that’s filled with medicinal herbs to help you breathe easy as well as a Finnish sauna and steam bath. The treatments are also just as indulgent. If you have hit the slopes earlier in the day, you might want to try the Alpine Recovery with its salt inhalations, skin brushing, and full body cupping massage. If you need a post-piste stretch out, visit the Technogym-filled gym or make a splash in the infinity pool. Or if you’ve already sent your smartwatch into meltdown, choose the relaxation room with the open Himalayan salt-stone fireplace.

Room with a view: The Park Suite offers unrivaled views over the village park and surrounding Swiss mountains. And it also comes with a bathtub where you can enjoy a soak after a day on the slopes.
