Celebrity favourite Chiva Som is about to launch in the Middle East. This sprawling oasis in the desert comprises two separate resorts – a Family Wellness Resort and a Wellness Resort aimed at adults. It is the first holistic escape to feature Traditional Arabic Integrative Medicine, an ancient philosophy that uses medicinal herbs, dietary practises and mind body healing to get you back on your feet.
Tina says: “This is very exciting! It will be the first international destination spa in Qatar.
Chiva Som Health Resorts will be taking decades of expertise to an area that until now has been lacking in wellness properties.”
Six Senses is taking wellness to the Big Apple with the launch of its first property in North America. Within the two twisting towers set by the Hudson River you’ll find two restaurants showcasing locally-sourced produce, the famed Six Senses Spa as well as a private members’ club.
Tina says: “The spa will be hi-tech using the latest in spa science for a highly individualised experience.”
Since launching its first resort in Bali in 2018, Revivo Wellness Resort has already become a fast-favourite with wellness lovers. Focusing on treatments for the mind, body and soul, the retreat looks at you as an individual and you can even have a bespoke package created for you based on your DNA. It is now taking its unique concept to a vineyard near Barcelona, and this resort is expected to open by summer 2020.
Tina says: “This relatively new brand keeps going from strength to strength. Apart from the launch in Barcelona to look forward to, it is also launching a Revivo Wellness Resort in Niseko for the winter season. It will combine Revivo’s concepts with Japan’s own unique wellness traditions and will feature a natural hot spring.”
All eyes will be on Germany for the launch of the Lanserhof Sylt on the Wadden Sea. This island hideaway will blend rustic looks with state-of-the-art treatments. Think shoreside thatched villas filled with sleek, sweeping staircases, designer fireplaces and bespoke treatment rooms.
Tina says: “Like its sister properties, this new resort in the Hamptons of Germany will be a five-star medical spa. It has its own LANS Med Concept and uses the Mayr Detox.”
The Bill Bensley-designed property near Halong Bay is about to launch 2240sqm wellness centre. Guests will now be able to choose from a wide-ranging array of treats including a menu of herbal baths, in the shadow of the Yen Tu mountains.
Tina says: “It will specialise in Zen meditation and wellness counselling. It was due to open in February 2019, but has been delayed.
