Nusret Gökçe or Salt Bae as he is known to his fans, captivated the internet with his showmanship in the kitchen. But rather than rest on his meme laurels, the Turkish butcher launched restaurants in Dubai and New York. He now has 13 restaurants around the world, and counts Leonardo di Caprio and P Diddy among some of his diners. Who knew that by sprinkling salt in a cobra-style pose over a mustard soaked rib eye could be so effective.

The Willie Wonka of chefs is about to open his latest eatery Dinner at Royal Atlantis on the Palm in Dubai. His world of imagination runs to nitrogen ice carts, meat dishes that look like tangerines and snail porridge. Dining at a Blumenthal restaurant is a multi-sensory experience.
