Upon arriving at the airport, you'll be met by a representative and privately transferred to your hotel. 

After checking in the remainder of your day will be spent at leisure.

Guided tour of Rio de Janeiro

Today you'll visit the highlights of Rio de Janeiro with your guide.

Enjoy a walk along Copacabana and Ipanema beaches to watch the cariocas at play. The cable car ride up Sugarloaf Mountain is incredible offering fine views of the city and coastline below. Continue to the iconic Christ the Redeemer Statue atop Corcovado Mountain and perhaps on to the Tijuca Rainforest nearby, an incredible rainforest in the heart of sprawling Rio.

Day at leisure in Rio de Janeiro

You'll have the entire day to explore the city at your own pace or relax at your hotel.

This is your chance to enjoy cycle rides along the beach fronts, helicopter flights for the best view of the skyline, visits to community projects in the city’s favelas, and classes to cook a typical Brazilian seafood stew. 

Your Lightfoot Travel Designer will be able to advise on activities prior to departure.

Rio de Janeiro - Iguazu Falls

This morning you'll be transferred to the airport for your flight to Iguazu.

On arrival, you'll be escorted to your hotel in the heart of the Iguazu National Park, only a short stroll from the mighty Iguazu Falls.

Iguazu Falls

Today your private guide will take you across the border to the Argentine side of the Iguazu Falls, an extensive area of jungle walkways, exotic fauna and of course, the falls themselves.

Afterwards, take the exhilarating Gran Aventura boat ride to experience the power of the falls from below. 

The rest of the afternoon will be spent exploring the Brazilian side of the falls at your leisure.

From Iguazu Falls to the Amazon Jungle

This morning you will fly to Manaus via Sao Paulo where you are taken to your small and exclusive Amazon lodge by boat. We can also arrange private charter flights allowing for an extraordinary view of the Amazon from above.

Spend these two days exploring the best that the Amazon has to offer – fish for piranha, walk through the jungle with expert local guides, canoe the waterways of the Anavilhanas Archipelago, spot wildlife and learn about the minutiae of the jungle such as the plants and insects.

From the Amazon Jungle to Salvador

Head back to Manaus by boat where you take a flight to Salvador, a sprawling city on the Bahian coastline. Stay within the Pelourinho, the UNESCO-listed colonial quarter with its baroque churches, plazas and brightly painted houses.

Explore Salvador

Spend this morning wandering along the cobbled streets of the Pelourinho, visiting the principal sites and watching the world go by. Here the people are descendants of African slaves and it is this that has influenced everything from the food and music to dance and religion which itself is a mix of Catholicism and African inspired candomble.

From Salvador to Paraty

Fly south to Rio where you travel by road along the beautiful Costa Verde to colonial Paraty, with a backdrop of jungle-clad mountains and the island filled Paraty Bay in front. With great restaurants, boutiques and galleries it is a great spot to unwind after exploring Brazil.

Three nights at Casa Turquesa in the heart of the town. As an alternative we can offer Pousada Picinguaba for those seeking a coastal retreat.

Explore Paraty

Spend your days exploring the cobbled streets lined by pretty whitewashed colonial houses and bougainvillea. There is much to do here, we can organise an array of exciting excursions including schooner trips to outlying islands, snorkelling trips, horse riding or hiking along the former Portuguese Gold Trail, for the brave why not visit a historic distillery to sample cachaça, the Brazilian sugarcane alcohol used to mix caipirinhas.
