Day 1

Arrival Lima

You’ll be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day will be spent at your leisure. You'll have our list of recommended attractions to make sure you have a great time here.

Day 2

Tour Of Lima

Enjoy a full day tour of Lima, Peru's capital city which is a rich kaleidoscope of colonial architecture, pre-Columbian sites, charming residential areas and vibrant shopping districts.

After lunch you’ll head to the Rafael Larco Herrera Museum, which exhibits the largest private collection of Pre-Columbian Peruvian art in the world. You’ll also discover the city's beautiful Pacific coast through the neighbourhoods of San Isidro and Miraflores.

Day 3

Cusco – Sacred Valley

Today you’ll fly to Cusco and transferred to Sacred Valley, that is 2 hours away.

After being escorted to your hotel the afternoon will be spent at your leisure.

Day 4

The Sacred Valley

Enjoy a full day tour of the Sacred Valley, including a visit to the market of Pisac on the northeast of Cusco which hosts a daily fair selling handicrafts, textiles and replicas of pre-Hispanic pottery. 

In the afternoon, visit the fortress of Ollantaytambo, built by the Incas, and featuring steep stone staircases, temples and esplanades.

Day 5

Hiram Bingham Train To Machu Picchu

Board the Hiram Bingham train that winds through the Urubamba Valley to the fascinating mountaintop ruins of Machu Picchu.

Embark on a tour of the historical Machu Picchu ruins which was buried in the jungle until Hiram Bingham discovered it in 1911. Today, Machu Picchu represents an extraordinary example of architecture and engineering, with numerous ruins to explore amidst amazing views.

Day 6

Machu Picchu

Explore Machu Picchu at your leisure. It's up to you how you want to spend your time, and Lightfoot Travel can organise private tours according to your preferences.

You’ll take the Hiram Bingham train back to Cusco in the evening, enjoying a three-course dinner and cocktails while on board.

Day 7

City Tour Of Cusco

Head on a private city tour of Cusco. You’ll have the chance to visit the Koricancha, Temple of the Sun and  San Pedro market.

Day 8

Belmond Andean Explorer Train To Puno

Board the Belmond Andean Explorer train to Puno for a 10-hour train journey where you’ll witness mountainous landscapes and the rolling plains of the Altiplano. The train itself is elegantly decorated in the style of the great Pullman trains of the twenties, featuring dining cars and a car-bar outdoor observatory.

Day 9

Lake Titicaca

Embark on a cruise on Lake Titicaca with your private guide. You’ll sail towards the floating reed Uros islands, and visit Taquile Island for an insight into the culture of the lake and the island's inhabitants.

After the tour, you will head back to your hotel for the rest of the night.

Day 10

Lake Titicaca

Today will be spent at your leisure, giving you the chance to enjoy the excursions and activities available at the lodge, like mountain biking, kayaking on the lake, hiking and much more.

Alternatively, simply just relax and pamper yourself at the spa.

Day 11

Lake Titicaca - Colca Canyon

Today, you will take a private transfer to Puqio, set in the heart of the Colca Canyon. Surrounded by rugged Andean mountains,  this luxury Safari-style tented hotel will be your home for the next two nights. 

Spend the rest of the day soaking up the vast nature on a hike, plunge in the private outdoor bathtub, or curl up with a good book on your room's private terrace. 

Day 12

Colca Canyon

Begin your day with a healthy Peruvian breakfast and a cup of coffee while enjoying views of the surrounding volcanoes and expansive grasslands. 

Next, embark on a tour of Colca Canyon, one of the deepest canyons in the world. Witness the magnificent Andean Condors as they effortlessly glide through the air with their impressive 2-meter wingspan. 

Day 13

Colca Canyon - Arequipa

After breakfast, you will take a private transfer to Arequipa, arriving in time for lunch at your new hotel. 

In the afternoon, enjoy strolling through the charming streets of this UNESCO World Heritage site. At sunset, relax with a cocktail at a rooftop bar, followed by local dinner.

Day 14

Colca Canyon - Amazon River

Today you’ll fly from Arequipa to Iquitos, via Lima, where you’ll board a luxury Amazon cruise where you will spend the next three nights.

You will be greeted with a welcome cocktail and a briefing upon arrival before embarking on the journey.

Day 15

Amazon River

It’s an early start today for a sunrise skiff exploration. After lunch, your adventure continues with swimming, kayaking, or paddle boarding near pink river dolphins. 

Then spend the evening learning about the night sky.

Day 16

Amazon River

Today’s skiff excursion takes guests to a scenic part of the river. Later, you will head to the Dorado River for a skiff exploration, where guests can go piranha fishing and kayaking.  

As your last afternoon on board, soak up all the last bits of beautiful Amazonian nature and take part in a few last activities. 

Back on board, sip a pisco sour before dinner.

Day 17

Departure

Today, your day will start with a trip to the Rescue & Rehabilitation Centre of River Mammals. Learn more about this successful project and see how the manatees are cared for before their return to the wild. 

After, you will take a private transfer, beginning your journey back home.
