Kicheche Laikipia is located in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy in central Kenya - 90,000 acres of beautiful wilderness in a private managed concession. The lodge sits at an elevation of 6,000 feet and affords wonderful views of Mt Kenya.
There are six sumptuous tents set around a large waterhole which attracts an array of wildlife. There is a spacious family suite with 2 bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms. The bedrooms are connected by a lounge furnished with a sofa and small table enabling private dining. Private verandas offer prime wildlife viewing opportunities and star-gazing at night.
Laikipia is well known for the creative cuisine the chefs prepare. From outstanding bush breakfasts with different selections every day to the sundowner snacks, they offer a feast for the foodies amongst guests.
A wide variety of activities are available, all overseen by an exceptional guiding team dedicated to ensuring your safety and enjoyment. The camp is situated in the low vehicle density wilderness zone of the conservancy, offering a highly private and rewarding wildlife viewing experience. This area is East Africa’s largest black rhino sanctuary, and it also boasts a myriad of other wildlife, including elephants, lions, cheetahs, and abundant plains game. Ol Pejeta Conservancy also offers night game drives, providing an opportunity to see species not typically active during the day.
While at Ol Pejeta, you can visit the Morani Center and the endangered species enclosure, home to the last remaining Northern White Rhinos on the planet, the chimpanzee sanctuary, or even meet the anti-poaching dogs (some activities may require a fee). For more active visitors, options include canoeing, mountain biking, and bush walks.
Children
Children are welcome but adults must be aware that the camp is not fenced and no additional facilities are available to occupy them outside our normal excursions. No baby equipment is provided.
