It doesn’t get more Manhattan than The Carlyle; an emblem of New York glamour and luxury. Situated in the heart of the Upper East Side, the hotel is legendary for its discretion and grace and for being a favorite of the late Jackie Onassis and Lady Diana.
The 35-storey 1930s Beaux-Arts building fuses old-world elegance with contemporary cool, noticeable from its lavish black and gold-hued marble lobby and oil paintings.
The 188 art deco-style rooms and suites come with all mod-cons, some with stunning Central Park views. Upgraded rooms add skyline vistas, sitting areas, soaking tubs, and rainfall showers. Sleek suites offer separate living rooms; some have pianos, full kitchens, and art collections.
When it comes to dining, you don’t have to leave the hotel. French haute cuisine and seafood classics such as lobster thermidor can be found at the in-house restaurant; while Bemelmans Bar remains one of the finest cocktail bars in the world. Opposite the entrance to Bemelmans is Café Carlyle, where you can dine, drink, and listen to great jazz.
There’s also a gym, hair salon, and The Sisley-Paris Spa which offers a plethora of massage rituals to rejuvenate the body and mind.

You’ll meet the staff who have been at the hotel for decades – one elevator operator who is still there today loves to tell stories of the days when Princess Diana used to stay there. We also adore that on certain nights you can sometimes find the odd celebrity playing with the jazz band at the popular bar.
