Culture in Manila and Boracay Beach

Day 1

Arrival Manila

Upon arrival in Manila you’ll be met by a representative and be privately escorted by car to your accommodation.

After you’ve checked in you’ll have a bit of time to unwind before heading on a city tour. Explore the old Spanish walled city of Intramuros by foot and horse‐drawn carriage, taking in stunning structures and the history of Philippine art, culture and society as you go.

Next, you’ll be transferred to the wharf for a yacht cruise around Manila Bay. Cocktails and Filipino nibbles will be served.

After the cruise you’ll proceed to “La Cocina de Tita Moning”, the only place in Manila where you can walk into an ancestral home, filled with works of art and memorabilia. Discover heirloom recipes, doting staff, and family collections of china, glassware and silverware.

Day 2

Day excursion from Manila

This morning you’ll be driven rive south of Manila to Tagaytay to witness one of the world’s strangest wonders – Taal Volcano. This is the world’s smallest volcano, incorporating a volcano within a volcano and a lake within a lake.

You’ll then continue to a local restaurant on a colourful jeepney: the world-famous Philippine public transport that has become a folk art.

After lunch you’ll return to your hotel and the rest of the day will be spent at leisure. Your Lightfoot Travel Designer can advise on restaurants and activities prior to departure.

Day 3

Manila - Boracay

This morning you’ll be transferred to the airport for your one-hour flight to Boracay via Caticlan airport.

Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed by dancers and drumbeaters before being transferred by boat to the beautiful Shangri-la Boracay Resort & Spa.

Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure before dinner in the hotel and a local performance.

Day 4

Island hopping in Boracay

This morning you’ll hop on a local catamaran and head to Puka Beach on the opposite side of the island.

Tricycles will be waiting for a cool, easy ride back to White Beach to check out the shops and cafes.

Your Lightfoot Travel Designer will be able to advise on activities prior to departure.

Day 5

Snorkelling

Enjoy a morning of snorkelling along the west coast of Boracay. The Coral Garden is a garden full of corals, especially cabbage corals, and it’s also an established fish feeding area.

Your next stop will be Crocodile Island, another nearby island, named as such because of its shape. After some swimming and snorkelling, you’ll proceed to Crystal Cove, a private island featuring a series of beautiful caves.

On Tambisan Beach, a buffet lunch will be served before you return to your resort passing by Friday’s Rock and Balinghai.

Day 6

Departure

Indulge in a special champagne brunch before being transferred to the airport for your onward flight back to Manila.
