Serian 'The Original'

Located alongside the Mara River in Kenya's private Mara North Conservancy, Alex Walker's Serian 'The Original' is an exclusive bush camp, consisting of just five spacious tents including a family suite.

Guests can enjoy expansive views of the Mara River and the Oloololo escarpment whilst enjoying a sundowner in the thatched mess area or simply cosying up in front of the indoor fireplace on a cool night. Serian 'The Original', with its rich warm textures and natural hardwoods, exudes a homely yet exclusive feeling. Activities include day and night game drives, guided walks, fly camping, Maasai cultural visits as well as day trips to Lake Victoria, horseback riding and river fishing.

The Maasai Mara, which sees the migration of one and a half million Wildebeest, Zebra and Topi during the months of July to November, is considered the ‘Jewel in the Crown of East Africa’. Serian is one of just 11 camps located within the exclusive 75,000-acre Mara North Conservancy, offering an almost undisturbed wildlife viewing, even during peak season, guaranteeing an exclusive and unique safari experience.

Accommodation

Guests will find five spacious and elegantly designed marquee-style tents including one family suite. Each one is unique in their own style and are all fitted with a large double bed and an adjoining ‘bush bathroom’ which includes a shower, a large bathtub and a flushing loo. Complete privacy is ensured by means of hanging swathes of cotton and canvas walls.

Food and Drink

Dining at Serian 'The Original' is a highlight, seamlessly blending gourmet creativity with the rustic charm of the bush. Meals are thoughtfully crafted with fresh vegetables, salads and fruit sourced directly from the surrounding garden.

Children

Children of all ages are welcome at Serian 'The Original'. The Family tent is best suited for those travelling with children.

Getting There

Serian 'The Original' is easily accessible via a short 40 minute flight from Nairobi to the Mara North airstrip, followed by a scenic drive to the camp. This convenient connection makes Serian an ideal base for exploring the Maasai Mara.
