Chobe National Park is located just west of Victoria Falls in Botswana. It has one of the highest concentrations of elephants in Africa, counting leopards, giraffes, baboons, impala and lions among its many inhabitants.
Chobe National Park is most famous, however, for its extraordinary population of Kalahari elephants, estimated to be more than 50,000 strong. During the dry season between April and October, the Chobe River provides the only source of water in the region resulting in a spectacular gathering of wildlife.
