Upon arrival at Mexico City, you’ll be escorted by car to your accommodation.
The remainder of your day will be spent at leisure.
Your Mexico City stay begins with a full-day tour of the historic centre. The tour includes Zocalo Square, the National Museum and Metropolitan Cathedral, before lunch at a local restaurant.
After lunch, enjoy a guided tour of the Anthropology Museum.
Today’s full-day excursion takes you to one of Mesoamerica’s most important sites, Teotihuacan. Learn about the rituals, beliefs, cosmology and everyday lives of the Aztecs and their predecessors.
Head into the colonial heartlands of Mexico, starting with the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Querétaro and its Baroque monuments.
Afterwards you’ll continue to San Miguel de Allende where you’ll check into your hotel.
Enjoy a full-day guided tour of the historic centre of San Miguel de Allende, including its famous pink church. You’ll also visit La Aurora where you’ll see local artists and craftsmen at work.
Enjoy leisure time in San Miguel de Allende this morning – your Travel Designer can recommend activities that suit your interests prior to departure.
After lunch, visit the local market to learn about and purchase Mexican ingredients and visit the vineyard at Cuna de Tierra to buy an accompanying bottle of wine. Enjoy a cookery class, before feasting on your creations.
You’ll have time for a final wander around San Miguel de Allende before heading on a vineyard experience to Cuna de Tierra, where you’ll taste some of their finest wines paired with a four-course gourmet meal.
End the day checking into your Guanajuato accommodation.
Your guide will lead you on a full-day tour of the creative city of Guanajuato, where you’ll enjoy a walking tour through the historic old centre and lunch in a renowned local restaurant (not included).
Today you’ll head into the volcanic heartlands of Mexico: Patzcuaro. You’ll stop at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Morelia before enjoying a private guided tour of Patzcuaro, known as ‘the door to heaven’.
Spend the first half of the day exploring the former copper mining town of Santa Clara de Cobra, where you’ll see local coppersmiths at work. You’ll also visit the communities of Lake Patzcuaro and, time permitting, you’ll explore the ruins at Tzintzuntzan.
Today you have a four-hour transfer to Ixtapa. After checking into your hotel, you have an evening at leisure.
The final two days of your trip to Mexico will be spent at your leisure in the resort town of Ixtapa.
