Upon arrival at the airport you’ll be escorted by car to your accommodation.

The remainder of your day will be spent at leisure.

Colombo – Anuradhapura

After breakfast, your private driver will collect you for the 4.5-hour drive to Anuradhapura. Check into your accommodation and spend an afternoon at leisure, enjoying the child-friendly facilities at your hotel.

Anuradhapura

Today, you’ll explore the ancient city of Anuradhapura, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your guide will bring the history of the site to life and fascinate you and the kids with stories of ancient times as you wander around the ruins.

Anuradhapura – Sigiriya – Kandy

In the morning you’ll explore two more of Sri Lanka’s famed UNESCO sites. First, you’ll be escorted to Sigiriya, an ancient fortress perched high on a rock that locals call ‘the Eighth Wonder of the World’. Explore the palace, wander through Lion Gate, and stroll around the gardens.

Next, visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, also known as the Golden Temple. The complex has over 80 caves, with the main five housing statues and paintings dedicated to the life of the Buddha.

5 Sri Lanka_Yala

Day 5
Kandy – Central Highlands

Time for a change of scenery as you hop on the Sri Lanka Railway to explore the Central Highlands. Your trip takes you past tea plantations, waterfalls and misty mountains to Nanuoya Station, where your driver will meet you.

Drive via Nuwara Eliya, a charming town known as ‘Little England’, to your accommodation. Settle in with a nice cuppa.

6 Sri Lanka_Yala

Day 6
Central Highlands

Enjoy a day at leisure to explore the Central Highlands.

Go hiking or mountain biking, play tennis and try your hand at picking tealeaves. You can also visit the local tea factory and watch as they create the perfect cup of tea, before enjoying a tea tasting.

Day 7
7 Sri Lanka_Yala

Central Highlands – Yala

You have a long drive ahead as you leave the Central Highlands and head to Yala, a journey of around six hours.

Stop for lunch along the way, then check into your next hotel.

In the afternoon, enjoy a guided game drive through the Yala National Park to spot wildlife gathering around the watering holes at twilight.

Day 8
8 Sri Lanka_Yala

Day 8
Yala – Talpe

Rise with the sun this morning to enjoy a morning game drive to witness wildlife at their most active. Return to your hotel for breakfast before your drive to Talpe, around 4.5 hours away.

Check into your beach sanctuary and enjoy an afternoon at leisure, relaxing around the pool or lazing on the beach.

Talpe

Enjoy a day at leisure at Talpe.

Tour the cricket stadium, visit ancient temples, or take a boat ride on Koggala Lake. Relax on the beach, go hiking through the rainforest, or go whale watching. Visit the turtle hatchery, snorkel in the crystal-clear waters, or enjoy various watersports.

Galle Fort – Departure

Start your day with an exploration of Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Wander through the backstreets, meet the locals, and learn about local life.

Next it’s back to Colombo for a wander around Cinnamon Gardens. Explore the fort and Sea Street, browse the bazaar, and visit a Hindu temple.

Enjoy a final dinner in Sri Lanka before returning to the airport for your onward flight.
