Amazing Barcelona & Magnificent Madrid

Take some extra time in Madrid to wander around the incomparable Prado Museum. I once spent a full day wandering the halls and would have happily gone back the next day had I the time!

Arrival Barcelona

Upon arrival at the airport, you’ll be escorted by car to your accommodation.

After time to refresh and eat lunch, enjoy a four-hour guided tour of Barcelona’s main sights including the Sagrada Familia, Gothic Quarter, Olympic Port and fortress.

Day 2
Barcelona – Figueres – Girona

After breakfast in your hotel, you’re off to Figueres and Girona.

Here, discover more about the life and work of Salvador Dali on a guided excursion of the Dali Museum, before finishing the trip exploring Girona’s historical old town and its magnificent cathedral.

Day 3
Barcelona – Montserrat

Today’s excursion takes you to Montserrat Mountain, 50km from Barcelona. You’ll visit the Montserrat Monastery and Cathedral, which includes some work by Gaudi. You also have the option of admiring the landscape from a hot air balloon.

Day 4
Barcelona - Madrid

Start your day with leisure time in Barcelona before boarding the high-speed train to Madrid, where you’ll be escorted to your hotel.

After checking in, get acquainted with the city. Your Lightfoot Travel Designer can recommend activities to suit your interests prior to departure.

Madrid

Today, you’ll get to know the Spanish capital on an eight-hour guided excursion of Madrid. Along the way, you’ll visit Real Madrid’s football stadium, see the Royal Palace, explore the city market and central streets, and taste typical Spanish cuisine.

Day 6
Madrid - Toledo

After breakfast enjoy a day’s excursion to the ancient city of Toledo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Discover the city’s history and visit the Alcazar for panoramic views of the city and surrounds.

Day 7
Madrid – El Escorial – Departure

In the morning, head on a guided tour of El Escorial, the country residence of King Philip II, and visit the Valley of the Fallen.

After lunch, you’ll be escorted to the airport for your onward journey.
