Mchenja Bush Camp
Luangwa ValleyMchenja, meaning “ebony”, occupies a stunning setting beneath a grove of these trees on the banks of the Luangwa River. It’s just a short morning’s walk upstream from Kakuli Bush Camp and is in an area teeming with wildlife.
The camp has a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, and comprises four stylishly designed tents each under its own thatched roof and with a deck in front overlooking the Luangwa river. Each one has an outside shower room; if you’re feeling indulgent, have a soak and a sundowner in the Victorian-style bathtub overlooking the river through your own private screened window.
There's a small pool alongside the bar within the thatched main chitenje, allowing you to seek cool refuge after the morning’s safari activities.
Guests staying at Mchenja can choose whether they want to view their wildlife on foot or from an open game viewing vehicle. The game viewing in this area is superb and night drives are usually very worthwhile.

Location & Getting There
Mchenja Bush camp is located at South Luangwa National Park. It is a 1 hour flight from Lusaka to Mfuwe followed by a 2 hour game drive to the camp.
Accommodation
Mchenja Bush Camp comprises of four tented chalets which are spacious and contains canvas windows which allows good ventilation. Each tent has its own en-suite bathroom, an open-air bathroom that is equipped with a hot & cold shower, a flush toilet and a hand-basin in the corner.
Activities
The main draw is game viewing and guests can opt for game drives or walking safaris. Night drives in this region are very much worthwhile too.
