Arrival Lilongwe

Upon arrival at the airport, you’ll be met by a representative and privately escorted by car to your accommodation in Lilongwe.

The remainder of your day will be spent at leisure.

2 Lake Malawi

Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserve

After breakfast at your hotel, you’ll be driven to the airport for your internal flight to Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserve. Malawi’s oldest and least developed protected area, the wilderness reserve includes forests, grasslands and rivers.  

After checking into your accommodation the remainder of the day will be spent at leisure. Your Lightfoot Travel Designer can advise on activities prior to departure.

Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserve

Spend the day exploring Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserve. 

Home to an abundance of wildlife, there are a variety of activities on offer, including walking safaris, birdwatching tours, opportunities to meet the local Malawian community, river and 4WD safaris, and fly-fishing.

Continue exploring Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserve.

Nyika National Park

After breakfast, you’ll embark on an internal flight to Nyika National Park along the Zambian border. Malawi’s largest park, it features forested valleys, lush woodlands and sweeping grasslands.

After checking into your accommodation you'll spend the rest of your day at leisure.

Nyika National Park

Spend the day exploring Nyika National Park. Enjoy morning and evening nature drives, walking safaris, hiking, mountain biking, fishing and birdwatching.

Continue to explore Nyika National Park.

Likoma Island, Lake Malawi

Your next internal flight transports you to the shores of Lake Malawi, where you’ll be staying on Likoma Island. This tranquil island measures just 17 sq. km. and is fringed by beaches.

Spend your days scuba diving or snorkelling, or enjoy various watersports including wake boarding, kite surfing, waterskiing, stand-up paddleboarding and kayaking. Explore the island including St Peter’s Cathedral, go quad biking or sailing, or simply relax at the beach.

Enjoy relaxing and exploring Likoma Island.
