Ubuntu Camp

This semi-permanent, luxury tented camp is located in the Serengeti, in northern Tanzania, one of the world’s most famous national parks.

Ubuntu Camp moves to two different locations throughout the year as it follows the legendary wildebeest migration. It's an extremely comfortable, traditional safari camp with a warm and relaxed ambience.Offering personalised service, superb guiding and exceptional game viewing, it will appeal to adventurous travellers seeking an intimate and authentic East African safari experience.

The camp provides ten spacious and tastefully appointed canvas tents (including 1 family tent) furnished in classic safari style. Each one is designed for maximum comfort and privacy and is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the views.

Witness dramatic river crossings and calving on thrilling game drives, spend a lazy afternoon by the pool or watch game wander on the grassy plains in the comfort of your tent. Visits to local villages and a romantic hot air balloon safari can also be arranged. A picnic in the bush is a must.

Location and getting there

The camp has 2 different locations in the Serengeti, northern Tanzania.

Ubuntu North (August to November) – a 1.5 hour drive from Lamai airstrip

Ubuntu South (December to March) – a 30-minute drive from Serengeti South airstrip

Accommodation

Ubuntu Camp comprises 10 tented suites including a family tent that sleeps four. Each one is decorated in a traditional safari style and features double or twin beds and an en-suite bathroom with hot-water bucket shower.

Activities

The emphasis at the camp is on morning and evening game drives but guided walking safaris and bush breakfasts and dinners are also on offer. Hot air balloon flights can be arranged.

Children

The camp welcomes families with children aged 5 and over, however as there are no specific facilities for them and the camp is unfenced, it is more suited for families with older children. There is a family tent.
