Desert Nights Camp

Nizwa & the Empty Quarter

Located a two-hour drive from Muscat, Desert Nights Camp is a luxury tented camp that rises from the spectacular red dunes of Wahiba Sands. Sprawled across a 10-acre site, it offers a true Arabian experience with Bedouin-style tents under a blanket of stars.

The permanent camp has 39 tented suites with solid walls and graceful tented roofs along with 14 non-tented rooms, all adorned with striped rugs, vibrant cushions and Omani artefacts. Rooms feature king-size beds, lounges with daybeds, and bathrooms with flush toilets and hot and cold running water.

Two Dune Restaurant dishes up authentic Omani cuisine. Guests can also try a traditional lamb barbeque, or Shuwa, served around the campfire.

Enjoy exhilarating adventures from dune bashing, quad biking and sandboarding, to sunset camel rides, trekking and excursions to the souq and nearby attractions. Back at camp, sip a cocktail while gazing at the stars.

Why we recommend Desert Nights Camp

“Desert Nights Camp is a two-hour drive south-east of Muscat and a pleasant place to spend a few nights under the stars. The style is desert chic with a nod to Omani traditions. Doors are big and wooden, walls are adorned with lanterns and coloured cushions add comfort. Cosy up on the bean bags on the terrace and tuck into a generous spread of Arabic mezze.”
