Cap Karoso Sumba

Sumba

Bringing a fresh take to the wild shores of Sumba island, Cap Karoso redefines beachfront hospitality in Indonesia. This eco-conscious haven comprises 47 rooms, 20 villas, and a three-hectare organic farm. Contemporary structures and lush vegetation revolve around a reimagined traditional village. The beautiful property opens onto a pristine, white sand beach and the villas and rooms are magnificent testaments to indoor-outdoor living.

Missioned chefs and mixologists create exquisite menus for Cap Karoso’s Julang restaurant and all-day casual dining at the Beach Club using fresh produce from the resort’s own biological farm and inspired by the owners' French roots.

Sumba is part of the Eastern Indonesian province of Nusa Tenggara Timur, composed of three islands: Flores, Sumba and Timor. Located slightly off the archipelago, Sumba delights visitors with its unique landscapes, numerous endemic species of flora and fauna and its stunning white-sand beaches.

Why we recommend Cap Karoso Sumba

Peaceful, authentic, laidback but oh so chic, Cap Karoso brings a fresh-take to an untamed corner of western Sumba, Indonesia. , with meaningful community engagement and sustainability at its heart. At Cap Karoso the only choice is to slow down and live to the rhythm of traditional Sumbanese village life. On a recent stay here, our cofounder Lucy was impressed by the attentive staff, delicious french-led, locally sourced cuisine, extensive programme of activities (particularly for little ones) and local community projects.
