Cicada Lodge

Northern Territories

Surrounded by native bush and located high above the ancient waterways of the Katherine River, the Cicada Lodge is a true retreat. A joint venture by the Jawoyn people and Indigenous Business Australia (IBA), it’s the ideal base to explore the ancient landscape and cultural heritage of the Nitmiluk National Park.

Blending indigenous design with contemporary Australian style, the 18 one-bed cabins feature-rich local artworks alongside modern design and features. Each room has a private balcony with spectacular views over the gorge.

The on-site restaurant serves a fresh, contemporary menu showcasing native Australian flavors, complemented by an impressive wine list. Upon arrival, guests are invited to sunset drinks and tapas around the pool.

All tours have a cultural slant to give guests a deeper understanding of the history and culture of the region. Take a helicopter flight to tranquil waterfalls and swimming holes, fly to remote rock art sites with an indigenous guide, and experience the local wildlife.
