In his first hotel architecture project, Philippe Starck chose to reflect the heyday of the Bossa Nova era in the 50’s and 60‘s, when Ipanema blossomed into the city’s most charming neighborhood.

Located on Avenida Vieira Souto in the heart of Ipanema beach, the hotel is a short 20-minute drive from Rio de Janeiro International Airport.

Accommodation

There are 79 rooms and 10 suites, inclusive of Superior rooms with Courtyard views, Superior Oceanfront rooms, Deluxe Oceanfront rooms and Suite Oceanfront rooms available. These come with the option of a King bed or two single beds, a 32 inch plasma TV, a marble bathroom, a writing desk and a private terrace which boasts sweeping views of the vast ocean. The Suite features a separate living room and additional sitting area.

Activities

The close proximity to Ipanema each provides guests with easy access to swimming, surfing and other beach sports. The beach also offers a host of cultural and shopping options, along with the city's best bars and restaurants. Alternatively, guests can head out to explore the city just 20 minutes away, visit the iconic Sugarloaf just 15 minutes away, or the Copacabana beach just 5 minutes away.

Children are welcome but there are no specific facilities, though children's programmes are available to keep them entertained.
