Nestled in the rugged wilderness in the heart of Namibia's Damaraland, Camp Doros is an intimate, eco-friendly camp hidden among Mopane trees and perched on a high bank overlooking a dry riverbed. This luxurious camp offers a fully immersive exploration of Namibia’s breathtaking landscapes, where guests can experience the region’s incredible wildlife and rich culture, under the expert care of an experienced guide.

Located in an area renowned for desert-adapted black rhino, the activities at Doros camp are largely focused on finding one of these incredible animals with a qualified Rhino Ranger. The camp also offers nature drives, allowing guests to enjoy the intricate desert ecosystem and observe wildlife such as desert-adapted elephant, cheetahs, leopards, giraffes and mountain zebras or even marvel at ancient rock art. Evenings end with a star gazing tutorial, where guests can admire Namibia’s vast, clear night sky.

Accommodation

Camp Doros has six spacious, canvas-style tents, including a family unit, that blend seamlessly with the surroundings. Each tent features a private deck with panoramic views as well as en-suite bathrooms with hot water.

Food & Drink


There is a focus on personalised service, where guests can enjoy locally inspired cuisine, prepared with fresh, regional ingredients in a solar and wood-fired kitchen. Meals are served in the open-air dining area, allowing guests to enjoy the surrounding landscapes and starry night skies.

Children

Camp Doros welcomes families with children over the age of 6. There is a children’s menu and family-friendly activities are available. Younger children are welcome if the entire camp is booked for exclusive use.

Committed to preserving Namibia’s delicate ecosystem, Camp Doros is 100% solar powered and operates with a strong focus on sustainability. Camp Doros also works in conjunction with the Save the Rhino Trust to support two Rhino Rangers teams ensuring crucial rhino monitoring.

How to Get There

Camp Doros is accessible by 4x4 vehicles and is approximately a six hour drive from Windhoek. For those preferring a quicker option, chartered flights are available to the Onduli landing strip, followed by a scenic transfer through Namibia’s dramatic landscapes.
