Self-Drive Adventure in Western Canada

Day 1

Arrival Vancouver – Whistler – Gold Bridge

Upon arrival at the airport, you’ll pick up your rental car and start your drive towards Whistler.

The first part of your drive takes you along the scenic Sea to Sky Highway, passing Shannon Falls and the Stewamus Chief Rock, before stopping at Whistler for a break.

Continue along the Duffey Lake Road, past the Joffre Glacier, to your accommodation in Gold Bridge, where you can check in and relax.

Day 2

Gold Bridge

Enjoy a day at leisure exploring the Chilcotin Mountains, just outside Gold Bridge.

There’s an array of activities available, including horseback riding, mountain biking, hiking, watersports, and even flightseeing.

Day 3

Gold Bridge – Lac Le Jeune

After breakfast, continue your drive to Lac Le Jeune. The route takes you through Lillooet, an important location in Canada’s gold rush history. Upon arrival in Lac Le Jeune, check into your accommodation and explore
your new surroundings.

Day 4

Lac Le Jeune – Jasper

Today’s drive will take you along the Thompson River to the Monashee Mountains. Stop to admire the Pyramid Creek Falls and Albreda Icefields as you make your way to Jasper and your next accommodation.

Day 5

Jasper

Enjoy a day at leisure exploring Jasper and the Jasper National Park.

Day 6

Jasper – Moraine Lake

After breakfast you’ll continue your journey to Moraine Lake. This scenic drive takes you through the heart of the Canadian Rockies, past snow-tipped mountains and glacial lakes. Stop at the Athabasca Glacier for an Ice Explorer adventure, before continuing to your next accommodation.

Day 7

Moraine Lake – Yoho National Park

This morning you’ll have a short drive to your next accommodation at Emerald Lake in the heart of the Yoho National Park. Settle in and relax by the lake.

Day 8

Yoho National Park

Enjoy a day at leisure exploring the Yoho National Park. Activities include hiking, biking, canoeing on Emerald Lake, horseback riding, white-water rafting, and gondola rides in the mountains.

Day 9

Yoho National Park – Banff

Start today with a leisurely drive to Banff along the Bow Valley Parkway. En route, stop at Johnston Canyon to see the waterfalls, before checking into your next accommodation. In the afternoon, there’s plenty to explore in the town of Banff.

Day 10

Banff

Spend a day exploring the area around Banff. You might wish to visit the Cave and Basin National Historic Site, ride the Banff Gondola, or bathe in the Upper Hot Springs.

Day 11

Departure

Today you’ll drive to the airport where you’ll drop off your rental car and catch your onward flight.
