This morning you’ll fly to Leh, where you’ll be met by your guide and transferred to your accommodation. Spend the remainder of the day relaxing and acclimatising.
Enjoy a walk to the village of Nimoo with your guide before returning to the village house for lunch.
Afterwards, visit the Basgo Fort and its impressive Islamic architecture.
In the evening, enjoy a cycle ride or cooking lesson.
Visit the village of Chilling, a settlement home to metal smiths.
Have a go at rafting to the shores of Nimoo, ending at the confluence of the Zanskar and Indus River.
Head to Alchi, the only monastery in Ladakh to be built on flat ground, before moving on to the picturesque village of Likhir and its monastery with a famous giant gold Buddha.
You’ll also have the chance to embark on a trek while you’re here.
Visit Lamayuru, known for its moonscape and monastery.
Afterwards, you can head on a trek through beautiful scenery and local villages dotted with apricot, willow and poplar trees.
You’ll be driven to Leh town where you can explore Leh Palace and the Shanti Stupa.
Stroll through the bustling Leh market before continuing to Stok, home to Ladakh’s royal family and their Tibetan-style palace on the edge of the village with amazing views of the Himalayas.
Choose to walk or cycle around the streets before returning to your accommodation.
Rise early and witness the early morning prayers at Thiksey monastery, one of the finest examples of Ladakhi religious architecture.
Then head to Hemis monastery where you can drive or cycle to the Matho monastery and museum. Your guide will show you around, providing you with an insight into Buddhism and a glimpse into the monks’ way of life.
