Day 1
Arrival Auckland
Upon arrival at the airport you’ll be met and privately escorted by car to your accommodation.
The remainder of your day will be spent at leisure.
Day 2
Auckland - Rotorua
This morning you’ll be taken to collect your rental car for the drive to Rotorua, New Zealand’s geothermal wonderland.
Settle into your accommodation and enjoy an afternoon at leisure.
Day 3
Rotorua
Today you’ll have a full day guided fishing excursion on the rivers and lakes of Rotorua, an area renowned for exceptional trout fishing.
Day 4
Rotorua
Your day begins with a three-hour guided eco-adventure through the evergreen native forests of the Mamaku Plateau. You’ll traverse ziplines, treetop platforms and suspension bridges while your guide brings to life the flora, fauna and birdlife.
Enjoy an afternoon at leisure. Your Lightfoot Travel Designer can recommend activities that suit your interests prior to departure.
Day 5
Rotorua - Taupo
Enjoy an easy two-hour drive to Taupo.
Settle into your sporting lodge in the Taharua Valley for a true wilderness experience.
Day 6
Taupo
This morning you’ll be taken on a guided walk through 6,000 acres of virgin beech forest, a haven for endangered species such as the kaka (New Zealand parrot) and small-scaled skinks.
In the afternoon you can choose from a range of activities, including horseback treks, fly-fishing, heli-hiking, Maori cultural experiences, mountain biking, rafting and kayaking.
Day 7
Taupo - Marlborough Sounds
This morning you’ll drive to Taupo Airport, where you’ll drop off your rental car and hop on the flight to Blenheim in the South Island.
You’ll be escorted to Picton Wharf to pick up your private water taxi to your accommodation.
Day 8
Marlborough Sounds
Today you can explore Marlborough Sounds and the Marlborough region at leisure.
Take a scenic cruise through the Sounds, charter a luxury yacht, walk part of the Queen Elizabeth Track, go birdwatching at Moturoa Island, or enjoy a wine tour of Marlborough. Your Lightfoot Travel Designer can help plan activities to suit your interests prior to departure.
Day 9
Marlborough Sounds - Nelson
After breakfast, you’ll head back to Picton by water taxi, where you’ll collect another rental vehicle and drive to Nelson. Settle into your luxury lodge and enjoy some leisure time.
Day 10
Nelson
Today you’ll have a full day excursion in the Abel Tasman National Park. You’ll drive to Stephens Bay to join your boat, before exploring Split Apple Rock, numerous sandy bays, Adele and Fishermen’s Islands, and the Tonga Island seal colony. The cruise itinerary is flexible and can be adapted to your interests.
You’ll stop for a picnic, swim and snorkel before heading back.
Day 11
Nelson - Queesntown
Drive to Nelson Airport where you’ll drop off your rental car and hop on a flight to Queenstown.
You’ll be met and escorted to your accommodation by Lake Wakatipu.
Day 12
Queenstown - Milford Sound
This morning you’ll be driven to the airport for your scenic flight to Milford Sound. You’ll enjoy a three-hour cruise on the Sound, passing sheer rock cliffs, tumbling waterfalls and the iconic Mitre Peak.
Enjoy some leisure time in Milford, where you can opt for a kayaking trip before your flight back over the glaciers of the Olivine Ice Plateau.
Day 13
Queenstown
Enjoy a day at leisure in Queenstown.
Take a ride on the steamer TSS Earnslaw on Lake Wakatipu, ride the Skyline Gondola to Bob’s Peak, go hiking or bungee jumping, play a round of golf, or go wine tasting in Central Otago.

Departure
Today you’ll be escorted to Queenstown Airport for your onward journey.
