Family Break in French Polynesia
With a great mix of activities and locations, there will be something to keep both parents and children happy in this itinerary. Swimming with rays and black tip sharks is one of the best experiences on the islands and something that everyone will remember forever.
Day 1
Arrival Tahiti
Upon arrival at the airport you’ll be met by a representative and driven by private vehicle to your hotel.
After settling into your room, the remainder of the day will be spent at leisure.
The kids will love hitting the resort’s two pools, while you pick your spot for amazing sunset views overlooking the island of Moorea.
Day 2
Uratea Experience
Immerse yourself in the enchanting local culture with a half day tour to learn about the beauty of the landscape, the history of the region, cultural traditions such as weaving, cooking and dance, and the ways of the Polynesian people. Importantly, you’ll learn about the Mana – a unique spiritual force that Polynesians believe surrounds the islands.
After a welcome ceremony you’ll enjoy traditional Tahitian food such as ‘Ma’a Tahiti’, Tahitan raw fish marinated with fresh coconut milk, shrimp and meat skewers, and tropical fresh fruits. There’ll also be the chance to indulge in some local activities yourself.
Day 3
Tahiti – Moorea
Today you’ll be escorted to the airport for your flight to Moorea. Upon arrival at the airport you’ll be transferred to your accommodation.
The remainder of your day will be spent at leisure. Your Lightfoot Travel Designer can advise on activities prior to departure.
Day 4
Shared Full Day Lagoon Tour with Picnic on a Motu
Grab your swimsuits and head to the lagoon of Moorea to discover its marine treasures. You’ll start with a visit to the majestic Cook’s and Opunohu’s bays where your guide will explain the marine life and you’ll get to spot stingrays and sharks in their natural environment.
After an optional dip in the warm waters you’ll enjoy a BBQ lunch on a ‘motu’ – a tiny reef islet.
Day 5
Moorea
Spend your day relaxing in paradise. The kids can borrow a kayak, paddleboard to explore the lagoon, go snorkelling or ziplining. Parents can hit the beach, do a spot of yoga, or indulge in the spa.
In the evening, enjoy dinner before settling down for a themed evening of Polynesian song and dance.
Day 6
Moorea
If you want to get active, this is your chance to go on a quad bike adventure through the lush rainforest at Opunohu’s bay, or embark on a 4x4 safari into the heart of the island, discovering pineapple fields and stopping to taste local jams and tropical fruit juices as you go.
Day 7
Moorea – Bora Bora
Today you’ll be escorted to the airport for your flight to Bora Bora. Upon arrival you’ll be privately transferred to your accommodation.
Spend your time settling in before sunsets and soaking up the intoxicating scent of tiaré (Tahitian gardenia).
Day 8
Private Polynesian Day in Bora Bora
Today you’ll be escorted on a boat trip through Bora Bora lagoon’s warm, clear water and beautiful coral gardens. Families will love exploring the reef by boat, before moving to a shallow site where you can interact with graceful stingrays while accompanied by your expert guide.
Indulge in a gourmet lunch on the beach. Your table will be set under a coconut tree with views of the dramatic peak of Mt Otemanu.
Day 9
Bora Bora
Spend today relaxing in your idyllic Bora Bora cloister. A complimentary kids’ club for children aged five and older will keep them busy with watersports, craft-making and tea parties, while you head to one of the excellent surrounding beaches.
Day 10
Bora Bora
Make the most of your final day.
Visit the property’s artificial “lagoonarium” for snorkelling with tropical fish; unwind by the two pools (one exclusively for adults); go surfing together as a family; or book a treatment at French Polynesia’s only Clarins spa.

Day 11
Departure
Today you’ll be escorted to the airport for your onward journey home.

- Go quad biking through the lush rainforest at Opunohu’s bay
- Snorkel around Bora Bora lagoon’s beautiful coral gardens
