The Blue Train

Travel in style past awe-inspiring mountain ranges, arid desert landscapes and untamed savannah grasslands teeming with wildlife on the 27-hour journey, covering 1,600 kilometres between Pretoria and Cape Town. An alternative route to Durban is also available.
Lavishly decorated suites complete with butler service have been designed to maximise comfort. Each suite features plush linens, under-floor heating, lavish bathrooms and large windows offering amazing views. Elegant lounges by day are transformed into sanctuaries at night. Luxury Suites offer more space, bathtubs and a state-of-the-art entertainment centre.
The cuisine aboard The Blue Train is outstanding. Sample local specialities in the elegant Dining Car. Enjoy sumptuous brunches and formal banquet dinners or dine in the privacy of your suite. Traditional high teas are served in the Lounge Car.
The real star of the journey is the African landscape, but the train makes one stop at Kimberley (Southbound) where passengers are transferred to the Kimberley Open Mine Museum by an old London Bus, and at the historical town of Matjiesfontein (Northbound).
