Rekero Camp

Maasai Mara & Southern Kenya

Situated in Kenya's Maasai Mara Game Reserve, close to the confluence of the Mara and Talek rivers, Rekero Camp is shaded by a riverine forest and overlooks the Talek river, often a prime area during the wildebeest migration.

Rekero Camp was one of the first camps established in the Masai Mara and is a firm guest favourite with many guests returning year after year. It was refurbished in June 2024.

Rekero Camp’s nine spacious tents are laid out along the edge of the Talek River under a network of shady trees. The suites are designed in classic safari style with a fresh, contemporary edge. Each tent has an en suite bathroom with running hot-water shower and flushing toilet. To make the suites even more comfortable, each tent has a large private veranda with an day bed or couch with views of the river.

The cherry on top here is the warm hospitality of the team and the world-renowned game-viewing guides with years of expertise.

Why we recommend Rekero Camp

Deep within Kenya’s Maasai Mara National Reserve, Rekero Camp offers a spectacular location from which to encounter the Great Migration over the river just in front of camp. A traditional east African safari camp, it evokes the authentic romance of safaris from a bygone era. Perched just above the Talek River, this is the ideal place to base yourself not only for observing the migration, but to make the most of the superb wildlife viewing all year round.
