Mandarin Oriental Bangkok

Bangkok

This classy retreat on the banks of the Chao Phraya River has a reputation for being one of the best places to stay in Bangkok, with outstanding facilities and style. Despite its central location and easy access to all of the city’s main attractions, the hotel is in a quiet and peaceful setting.

Combining opulent Thai style with contemporary touches, each of the 358 rooms and suites is unique. Most have river views, feature huge bathrooms and come with butlers.

Home to nine restaurants and bars, highlights include Lord Jim’s, which specialises in seafood, and fine dining restaurant, Le Normandie. The delicious afternoon tea, served in the historical Author’s Lounge is a must.

The hotel offers a welcome retreat after exploring the sights of Bangkok. A treatment in their award-winning Oriental Spa is the perfect way to relax, or you can take a yoga or Tai Chi class. As well as two outdoor pools and a gym, you can play tennis and squash. Alternatively, take a cooking class at the Oriental Thai Cooking School.

Why we recommend Mandarin Oriental Bangkok

“Mandarin Oriental Bangkok is a grand and greatly located sanctuary on the banks of the Chai Phraya River in Bangkok. When it comes to hospitality, it’s in a world of its own. It caters exceptionally well for couples and families, and children are treated like mini-VIPs. The two outdoor pools are most welcome after exploring the frenetic city, and the Bamboo Bar is excellent for a pre-dinner cocktail. The  jazz performances here - which take place later in the night - are classed as some of the best in the city."
