There are 36 stand-alone suites dotted across Bawah allowing guests to reside in ultimate privacy. Housed beneath safari-like tented ceilings and pitched roofs, each room features open-air bathrooms and sustainable materials of bamboo and teak.
Locally-grown ingredients are served at the Tree Top restaurant, and the Grouper Bar provides a wide selection of drinks. There's also a spa and yoga pavilion at the holistic wellness center. As night falls, guests can relax at the open-air cinema under the stars.
The eco mindset is prevalent throughout. Bawah is the first island in Indonesia to be powered by a renewable micro-grid. The resort was hand-built from recycled materials; water is heated using solar energy; all paper is mulched; crushed glass is used to filter water, and all waste is sent back to Batam for recycling.

Location & Getting There
Take a ferry from Singapore to Batam, followed by a short road transfer to Batam airport and a private seaplane to Bawah. The entire journey will take three and a half hours.

This eco-hideaway is home to 36 stand-alone suites spread across six islands. Each room is a laid-back tropical space with local materials and verandahs leading into Bawah’s magnificent nature, overlooking the beach or the thick forests. Modern conveniences are readily available - without a TV, radio, or alarm clock so you can switch off and forget the outside world.
