Tongabezi Lodge

Tongabezi is a privately owned unique luxury lodge set in a secluded tranquil grove of African ebony trees on the banks of the Zambezi River.

There are five river cottages and six spacious open-planned stone and thatched houses. The cottages boast a private deck which overlooks the river. The garden cottage is a perfect stay for families, consisting of a children’s room, private living room and garden area set back from the riverbank. Each room comprises of an en suite bathroom, flushed toilet accompanied by spectacular views, bath and shower.

Enjoy innovative international cuisine with a selection of fresh vegetables from Tongabezi’s eco garden. Guests can dine beside the river, on a private terrace or drift along on an anchored Sanpan.

The lodge is perfectly located for a host of activities such as game drives, bush walks and boating trips. The majestic Victoria Falls can be viewed either by boat or helicopter.

Location & Getting There

Zambia’s Tongabezi Lodge is located on the banks of the Zambezi River and 30 minutes away from the Victoria Falls. It is a 25-minute road transfer from Livingstone Airport.

Tongabezi comprises of 5 river cottages and 6 spacious open-planned stone and thatched houses. The 5 cottages boast a private deck which overlooks the river. The garden cottage is spacious and a perfect stay for families, consisting of a children’s’ room, private living room and garden area set back from the riverbank. Each room comprises of an ensuite bathroom, flushed toilet accompanied by spectacular views, bath and shower.

Activities

Guests can go canoeing, visits to the Mukuni Parl and local villages, guided bush walks, museum tours and sunrise and sunset boating. Guests can also go for fishing trips on the Zambezi or guided tours of Livingstone and Victoria Falls. Make it a day long adventure and go on an island lunch or indulge in floating river meals.

Children

Children 7 years and over are welcome. Children’s menu and specifically designed children’s activities such as drumming lessons, visit to nearby school to interact with children of their own age, tiger fishing and a quiz night.
