This luxury safari lodge is nestled among giant granite boulders in Twyfelfontein in Namibia’s Damaraland, an area renowned for its unusual rock formations and dramatic desert landscape. It is the sister camp of the nearby Mowani Mountain Camp and Onguma Camp in Etosha.
The lodge provides ten dome-shaped, thatched bungalows designed with comfort and privacy in mind. Organic and understated, the rooms at Camp Kipwe are like extensions of the rocks themselves. Each one features a wrap-around deck and delightful outdoor bathroom built around the boulders and offering magnificent views across Damaraland.
Start your day with an early morning game drive in search of the elusive desert-dwelling elephant, go hiking along the Aba Huab River or visit the rock engravings at Twyfelfontein, Namibia’s first World Heritage Site. Back at the camp, there’s an inviting lounge area where birds fly in to enjoy the water seeping from the rocks, and refreshing swimming pool nestled in the rocks.
