Twenty beachfront villas line the shore, surrounded by gardens. Each has a comfortable bed draped in mosquito nets, lounge, en suite with bath and shower, outside shower, and private infinity pool with sun deck. Villa Amizade and the Presidential Villa are ideal for families, and all villas have a dedicated Mozambican host.

The Jellyfish Restaurant serves fresh seafood complemented by a French wine list, and guests can opt for private beach dining. There’s also a lounge bar and spa.

Location & Getting There

Off the coast of Vilanculos on Benguerra Island, located within the Bazaruto Marine National Park, the lodge is accessible via a 2-hour flight from Johannesburg in South Africa to Vilanculos International Airport, followed by a 15-minute helicopter transfer.

Accommodation

The 17 beachfront villas that make up the accommodation at Azura Benguerra Island are spacious, luxurious, and situated on a private concession, right on the Indian Ocean. The Luxury Beach Villas feature a superb plunge pool and amazing views over the Bazaruto Archipelago. Infinity Beach Villas look past glorious 5-meter infinity pools towards the endless Indian Ocean horizon and contain en-suite bathrooms which feature deep bathtubs. The single Island Beach Villa is the smallest and most private place to stay, perfect for honeymooners. Offering all the comforts of the other beach villas, it is conveniently situated at the end of the property, next to the African Spa. All villas comprise indoor and outdoor bathrooms, as well as panoramas over the Indian Ocean and Benguerra Island.
