Huka Lodge

Located on the banks of the Waikato River and set within 17 acres of manicured grounds, Huka Lodge is one of New Zealand’s finest. This Relais & Chateaux property is in an area of sublime natural beauty on the outskirts of Lake Taupo and offers world-class food and amenities alongside exquisite personal service.

There are 20 guest suites, along with the two-suite Alan Pye Cottage and four guestrooms in the secluded Owner’s Cottage. Rooms are simple and elegant, with large comfortable beds, welcoming living areas, and spacious en suites with underfloor heating. The cottages include fully equipped kitchens and private infinity pools.

Huka Lodge in Lake Taupo serves hearty breakfasts and five-course dinners made from fresh New Zealand produce and accompanied by local wines. Dine in the main lodge, or one of 20 secluded locations around the grounds.

Activities at Huka Lodge include yoga and meditation in the gardens, helicopter rides, scenic boat cruises, winter skiing, hiking, and horse riding.

Location & Getting There
Set on an unrivaled riverside location on the outskirts of Taupo in the heart of North Island, Huka Lodge is a 3/4 hour drive from Auckland, 4 - 5-hour drive from Wellington, and a 1-hour drive from Rotorua International Airport.

Accommodation
All Junior Lodge suites have French doors that open onto the wooden terrace that faces the green waters of Waikato River. The Lodge suite comprises of 2 bedrooms, a lounge, a dining area, a walk-through dressing room, and a large wooden terrace. The Owner's Cottage features 4 en suite guest rooms and a central living room, dining room, kitchen, and den. The Alan Pye Cottage boasts a cozy and intimate atmosphere with its open plan living room, open fireplace, dining room, infinity swimming pool, and enclosed courtyard garden.

Activities
Guests can take scenic helicopter rides over the glorious Huka Falls, Mount Tauhara, and the magnificent Lake Taupo, challenge the wilderness at Kaimanawa Range, traverse the volcanic craters of Tongariro National Park, unwind on a cruise on Lake Taupo, go bungy jumping, skydiving, white water rafting, gliding, biking, hunting or embark on quad adventures and bespoke tours.

Children
Children are welcome at Huka Lodge and well catered for. The Lodge Suites interconnect and there are two private self-catering cottages. Babysitting is available upon request. High chairs, children’s menus, and children’s packed lunches are all available.
