Misool Eco Resort

Raja Ampat

This chic eco dive resort is fringed with powder-white beaches that are protected by stunning clear lagoons and some of the world’s richest reefs in the diving paradise of Raja Ampat.

With just 12 cottages, Misool Eco Resort offers a diving holiday like no other. There are eight Water Cottages and four Deluxe Villas each stilted over the placid North Lagoon. All the furniture and fittings have been hand-crafted on site from recycled wood by their team of resident Javanese artisans and local apprentices. Each spacious cottage is equipped with air conditioning, a mini-bar, and a Balinese-style en suite bathroom. They all have a private veranda.

Although the focus is on diving and the location is remote, to say the least, the restaurant offers a broad range of Asian and Western dishes with a focus on fresh, local, and organic fare. Afternoon tea on the terrace, sampling freshly baked treats like lemon and cardamom biscotti is a real treat after an afternoon of diving.

The Dive Centre and beachfront restaurant are just stepped away, looking out over a shallow turquoise lagoon – the perfect place to enjoy a sunset drink while watching the blacktip reef sharks hunting in the bay.

Why we recommend Misool Eco Resort

Misool Eco Resort is the only place to stay in Raja Ampat if you don't want to stay on a liveaboard. It's also one of the most beautifully remote places in the world, and the diving is fantastic.
