When you book with Lightfoot Travel you can be assured that we do not charge a penny extra for booking services and travel recommendations. We offer good value for money as we receive our commissions from our suppliers directly.

We rate the properties based on our experiences staying there. You would expect the Six Senses and Amans to be highly rated; but some of our smaller boutique favorites are not pricey yet provide an excellent and friendly hospitality experience and so we might give them a top-notch rating as well. If it is rated 5 – it’s definitely a Lightfoot Love. Just one foot does not mean it has roaches or dirty sheets though; it’s just that we feel there could be better options for you. What you should do is to get in touch with a Lightfoot Travel Designer for a better point of view on the places you are considering. If we have not stayed at the property before, our rating will be based on recommendations we have received or you might find that we have not rated the property. 

In each country that we send our clients to, we work with trusted ground handlers whose job it is to advise us on the current political situation and any threats that may affect our clients. In addition to this, we have regular updates from the British Foreign and Commonwealth office and will instruct clients not to travel to certain countries on their advice. Whilst we do everything we can to get reimbursements for our clients in the event of cancellation due to political risks or natural disasters, ultimately our clients need to ensure that they are insured against such events. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions. 

We partner with a travel security firm, Journey Watch. Clients have the option to sign up to a text message and email travel alert system for the particular country they are traveling in. This service is recommended when traveling to less stable environments. For more information on this please speak to your Travel Designer. 

In the event of an emergency, your first point of contact should be your ground handler for the trip. All our Travel Designers are also contactable on the emergency number, as indicated on your final travel documents.

Singapore citizens may also wish to register their travel with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Hong Kong citizens can register their travel with the Hong Kong Government. 

Unlike Europe, there is no equivalent to ATOL & ABTA in Singapore or Hong Kong. However, the rules for operating a travel firm in both these jurisdictions is far more stringent than in the UK, in that we are licensed by the government to sell holidays. The process of acquiring a license is very thorough and is renewed annually subject to us meeting financial and management criteria. All travel operators in Singapore and Hong Kong have to be independently audited and their accounts reviewed by the Singapore government. In terms of insurance, we are protected and have insurance underwritten by Lloyds of London. Please view our Singapore Travel License and Hong Kong Travel License.

We recommend that you seek the assistance of a qualified insurance broker, according to the type of holiday you are booking.  

Singapore and Hong Kong residents may approach the team during their enquiry for a referral to an insurance broker. 

Yes we can organize your travel visas and the cost of this would be included as part of your holiday. Please notify your Travel Designer if you would like this additional service included. 

We recommend that you seek a qualified opinion from your doctor, according to the countries you are visiting and activities you would be partaking in.
