If you want to explore further afield, Phuket is a great jumping off point to explore Phang Nga Bay off the northeast coast of Phuket, including the nearby 'James Bond' islands (made famous by the 1974 movie The Man with the Golden Gun'), as well as the Phi Phi islands.
