Megeve

The beautiful tree-lined slopes and stunning chalets make Megève a top European ski destination.

Suitably chic and full of charm, Megève is renowned as the fashionable resort of choice for Parisian aristocracy who return here faithfully year after year.

On a walk down the village, you should expect horse drawn carriages, fur coats, designer boutiques and fantastic restaurants akin to the exclusivity of Courchevel. Megève is far from haughty, and exudes a friendly sort of elegance, steeped in tradition. The atmosphere verges on magical at Christmas with families crowding around the ice rink in the village heart.

Much of the accommodation we recommend comprises of privately owned traditional chalets and boutique hotels full of warm, rustic timber.

For intermediate skiers, you couldn’t be skiing anywhere more beautiful than the tree-lined pistes set amidst stunning scenery. With some 27 miles of Alpine trails, there is plenty of cross-country skiing to be enjoyed. After all that skiing is done, enjoy a drink at Trapper’s Bar and dinner at La Sauvageonne.

Courchevel

Courchevel's ski area is the most famous of the Trois Vallées, the biggest linked ski area in the world. We love swanky Courchevel 1850 – by far the highest village – with its glamorous hotels, six Michelin-starred restaurants and an airstrip.

Chamonix

A busy little town of Victorian hotels and mountain adventurers at the foot of Mont Blanc.

Bordeaux

Welcome to the wine capital of the world! Bordeaux, often referred to in French as La Belle Endormie (‘Sleeping Beauty’) is currently enjoying cultural renaissance and is, of course, home to world-class vineyards and wineries.
