Amankila

Bali

Tucked away in the remote village of Manggis in East Bali, the incredibly luxurious Amankila allows you to experience traditional Balinese life away from the hustle and bustle.

Amankila is the ideal base from which to explore the cultural diversity and rich history of East Bali; a place of temples, palaces, rice paddies, and ruins; of villages where crafts lost to the rest of the island is still practiced; and where religion is an intrinsic part of everyday life. This tranquil locale offers a host of activities from mountain biking and diving, to cultural excursions to temples and ancient water palaces.

Surrounded by frangipani trees, the lobby affords exceptional ocean views, as well as views of the resort’s signature three-tiered pool. Down below the resort, set back from the private beach in a coconut grove, is the Beach Club which offers another pool, as well as casual dining.

Incorporating local architecture and materials, the 33 stylish Suites are all connected to the main building of the hotel by a raised walkway through the lush verdant garden. All have private terraces for relaxing outdoors and the Pool Suites have a sizeable swimming pool enclosed in a walled garden for maximum privacy.

The prime location of Amankila means that you're close to some of the most beautiful dive sites in Bali. The turquoise depths of the waters of the East Coast of Bali teem with a kaleidoscope of colored fish and corals. Enjoy diving around magnificent rock pinnacles to catch a glimpse of giant tuna, manta rays, and sunfish to name a few. The dive sites are suitable for all levels and qualifications can be arranged during your stay.

Why we recommend Amankila

Amankila is perfect for those who simply want to find a sanctuary. The out-of-the-way location means there are few tourist attractions nearby, so it’s the place to just kick back and cozy up. We like the stairs and elevated walkways that wind through the treetops to the freestanding guest villas. The star of the show is the spectacular three-tiered swimming pool, which flows down the hillside echoing Bali’s cascading rice fields.
